Interesting Research
Attached is a link to an article and resource used for tiering. I have used many of the resources for tiering on the front page of the PLP.
A Practical Guide to Tiering Instruction in the Differentiated Classroom - Grades 3-8 by S. Armstrong and S. Haskins
What impact did tiering have on student learning?
Once size doesn't fit all - especially true in the learning of students! Tiering allowed students to be successful, no matter the level. Students were still working on the same outcomes, but the product had the potential to be different (depending on what they chose).
Reflections on tiering:
I have learned a lot about Differentiated Instruction and I feel like this topic is one of the most important for me. There are so many levels, interests, and subjects in Grade 1. I want all of my students to be successful and enjoy learning. Tiering takes time, planning and should happen before the lesson. However, it makes the learning so much more valuable for the students. And that's what's important!
