Fostering Effective Relationships
The principal builds trust and fosters positive working relationships, on the basis of appropriate values and ethical foundations, within the school community – students, teachers and other staff, parents, school council and others who have an interest in the school.
My main focus this year is getting to know the students, families and staff.
-Front hallways greeting, walking the halls during recess times, classroom visits
-Meet the staff night, movie nights, science night, school council, volleyball
-Positive contact calls, emails, agenda messages
-Relationship building “7 touches” Ted Talk/Twitter.
-Cultural Christmas in Grade 1
-Center for Newcomers (Marcia)
-Friendship Group – Grade 3 (problem solving skills), Grade 4 and 5 "girls group"
-Effective Discipline – logical consequences, proactive
-Powerschool
-School Council
