Impact on Student Learning
Ongoing Evidence of Implementation
Below is a tiered activity for sequencing and writing. As a whole class, students listened to a big book called "Making a Snowman". Students were asked to order the cards and write at least one sentence per card on their paper. Some students were asked to write at least 4 sentences and other students were asked to write at least 6 sentences. The pictures promoted the opportunity for more writing, hence students were able to challenge themselves even further.
This library books is organized by reading level. Students can access these books at any time during the day for independent reading. Students are to choose their "home reading" level (independent level). They students also have black book boxes that contain books that are their independent level or have been practiced during Guided Reading. This is great fluency practice and builds confidence in reading.
